Kayla's story is fundamentally one of turning pain into power, and how building a strong sense of self is critical if we want to live a fulfilling adult life.
Kayla navigated life altering trauma in her early childhood and teenage years, which caused her to temporarily lose touch with her sense of self. Kayla Shares how she got her sense of self back, how she found meaning in her suffering, and how you can do this too.

Expect a balance between some heavy real life topics, and laughs, jokes and an overall lighthearted positive atmosphere. I'm not afraid to go there and talk about the hard stuff and I equally know when to crack a good joke and lighten the mood.
I use my personal life experiences as a vessel to communicate a variety of philosophies, messages and wisdom that I have learned throughout my life and studies. I would describe my style as authentic and vulnerable. I don’t have a script or a powerpoint presentation. I like my talks to feel like a conversation. A REAL conversation, not a performance or reciting statistics.
Some of the topics/ philosophies I am equipped to discuss are:
Building a strong sense of self
Building self awareness
How social media influences our sense of self worth
Influence of porn on teens/young adults
Navigating traumatic experiences
‘Group identity’ vs ‘Individual identity’
Eating disorders and body dysmorphia in girls and boys
Perfectionism - where it comes from and how to resolve it
Navigating shame and ‘not good enough syndrome’
Developing a healthy relationship with our bodies and food
Responsibility = freedom
Overcoming chronic and invisible illnesses
Self-compassion and self-love - what it is and how to do it.
Finding meaning in suffering
Substance abuse, unhealthy coping mechanisms + addiction

My set up is a simple as it gets! All I may need is a whiteboard to visually facilitate our group discussions.
