The Stromatolites draw on the iconic work of early jazz artists such as Sidney Bechet and Django Reinhardt as well as more contemporary influences. Comprising Simon Charles (saxophones), Jeffery Harold (guitar) and Leon Pratt (contrabass)
A second guitarist (Aaron Deacon) is available to make a manouche (gypsy jazz) quartet.
Individuals in the group have performed nationally and internationally with a variety of ensembles.
