The Safety Word perform as a digital/acoustic ensemble their works inspired by post rock, new romantic, chill wave and trip-hop sensibilities. The band consists of core song writing team John Rousvanis on (vocals/electric guitar) and Simon Quinn (laptop/keys) who either play as a compact duo unit or expand the band’s sound with Craigus McVegas (electric bass/synth) and an assortment of guest musicians for unique performances. Their sound can be described as down tempo electronica with a twist of trip-hop and future R & B. Thrown into the blender are soulful vocals, abstract guitar, deep bass and ambient synth soundscapes.

We can play edgy background music perfect for social gatherings where conversation is the key or a more upbeat music suitable for dancing. We will bring a combination of lights, smoke machines and lazers if required plus our own PA system. All of our gear is run through a central computer so we can adjust our volume with a dial so we can be the perfect volume for your event.

We require a 2 x 3 meter space to setup as well as access to a power outlet. We can bring extension cords if needed.
We have enough songs to play original music for 2 x 1 hr sets.
We can also bring DJ equipment to play a variety of chill and dance music to your requirements.
