Nota Bene is a duo based in Melbourne. Their repertoire includes music in the Bossa Nova and Samba style by great composers such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Baden Powell, Pixinguinha, Jacob do Bandolin, Vinicius de Moraes etc.
Nota Bene bring Brazilian jazz to their audiences, demonstrating the various hues in which it can be presented. Some songs are illustrated as though in softer pastels and watercolors, with quiet chords delivered by guitarist Roman Goldine, persuading the listener to sway along. In contrast, some arrangements depict bright and strong strokes, inspiring a sense of freedom and happiness.
Nota Bene were recently featured at the Mornington Winter Music Festival in 2018

Well celebrated and represented across the globe, Brazilian music is relaxed and alluring on the surface and sophisticated and intricate within. It can evoke a deep sense of romance, melancholia, hope and joy. Nota Bene also perform popular Jazz standards with a Brazilian feel.
Cassie Elliget is a vocalist from the Mornington Peninsula. Cassie especially enjoys singing Jazz music, including Brazilian Jazz. Her love of music and singing led her to study voice and to graduate with a Bachelor of Applied Music at Box Hill Institute in 2010. Cassie has been a performer in many musical theatre productions and has had experience collaborating with a number of musicians. Recently, in 2018, Cassie created and performed a solo showcase with Front & Centre Australia. Cassie has a strong voice, full of soul and passion, with a flexible range and notable intonation and timing.
Roman Goldine is a Melbourne based guitarist performing traditional Brazilian Samba, Bossa Nova and Choro (Brazilian instrumentals). Roman graduated from Moscow State Institute of Music and Melba Conservatorium of Music as a musician/performer. Roman moved to Melbourne in 1998 and has led an active musical life. He has a strong commitment to performing Brazilian contemporary music. He has performed in duos, trios and bands at many venues around Melbourne and Victoria including music festivals, jazz clubs and wineries.
