Hailing from the vibrant music scene of Brisbane, Australia, The Gypsy Cats came together in 2016. This trio, initially comprised of Roberto Fontana, Mircha Mangiacotti, and Daniele Avanzini, embarked on a musical journey that has seen them become a dominant force in Australia's gypsy jazz landscape.

Their musical odyssey has taken them to iconic venues and major music festivals, including Woodford, Brisbane Festival, OzManouche, Island Vibe and Yonder, where they've left audiences spellbound with their infectious rhythms and captivating melodies. Their dynamic live performances have not only captivated music enthusiasts but have also become a favourite at swing dancing-oriented events, where their music brings dancers and music enthusiasts together in perfect harmony.

The Gypsy Cats are not confined by tradition; they are musical explorers. Their insatiable desire to play, perform and create has led them to collaborate with a diverse array of musicians and guest artists. Over the years, this collective and collaborative spirit has shaped the band into its current incarnation as a robust quartet. The official lineup now boasts the talents of Emma Hales on Double Bass, Rory Dollard on Lead Guitar, Mircha Mangiacotti on Rhythm Guitar and Roberto Fontana on Trumpet.
