Perfect for schools and libraries, this engaging session for Prep–Grade 2 features a live reading of When You See a Dog in a Vest, plus meeting Hedwig, a real Assistance Dog. Children learn what Assistance Dogs do, why they wear vests, and how to behave safely and respectfully around them. A unique, interactive experience that supports inclusion, empathy, and social awareness.

Students/Children will enjoy a live reading of When You See a Dog in a Vest, followed by an engaging discussion about Assistance Dogs and how they help people in everyday life.
Hedwig 🦮, a real Assistance Dog, will be present during the session. As he is working, students will learn how to interact respectfully — this means using calm voices, giving him space, and not patting or distracting him while he is on duty.
There will also be time for questions, making this a fun, interactive, and meaningful learning experience.
It is ideal for Prep to Grade 2 students (ages 5–8), as well as:
